I started my business doing primarily outdoor sessions, and I still enjoy and do them all the time. But the more in-home family sessions I’ve done, the more I’ve grown to love them. Why, you ask?

First off, the obvious – air conditioning, ability to do midday when kiddos are happy, no weather cancellations, and no bugs. 🙂

But more than that, it’s your home! It’s where your family lives and spends the majority of their time. Your kids are comfortable there and it’s where your family makes memories. Why not do your family photos there?!

It wasn’t a thing when we were little, but I so wish I had nice photos of my family in our childhood home from when I was young. These will be so special for your family to look back on and remember.

The main pushback I often get is – “But my house isn’t pretty enough!”

Your home may never be in a magazine (most of ours won’t, by the way!) but to your kids, it’s the most beautiful and special place they know. Yes, you do need some amount of natural light, so if you feel that you’re really lacking in that we can chat and see what works best. But the vast majority of the time, every house has at least a spot or two that we can use and make beautiful memories together!
